Your Guide To Rejuvenating The Eye Are

Your Guide to Rejuvenating the Eye Area

The delicate eye area is often one of the first places to show signs of ageing. Fine lines, dark circles, puffiness and hollowing can all contribute to a tired appearance—even when you feel well rested.

The good news is that there are now a variety of products and treatments available to refresh the eye area. The right option will depend on your individual concerns, skin condition and facial anatomy.

Why does the eye area show signs of ageing first?

The skin surrounding the eyes is thinner and more delicate than the skin on many other areas of the face. It also has less natural support and is constantly moving as we smile, squint and blink.

As we age, our production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid gradually decreases. Changes to the underlying fat pads, muscles and bone structure can also lead to fine lines, loose skin and hollowing beneath the eyes.

Lifestyle and environmental factors—including sun exposure, lack of sleep, dehydration and genetics—may make these changes appear more noticeable.

What can I do for my eyes?

From targeted skincare to advanced injectable and non-invasive treatments, there are several ways to improve the appearance of the eye area.

Eye Creams

A carefully selected eye cream can be an excellent addition to your daily skincare routine. These products are specifically formulated for the thinner, more sensitive skin surrounding the eyes.

Different ingredients can address different concerns. Vitamin C can help to brighten the area, while retinoids may improve the appearance of fine lines and uneven texture. Hydrating ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid, can also help the skin appear smoother and more refreshed.

Our skin therapists can recommend a product suited to your skin and introduce active ingredients gradually where needed.

Injectable Skin Boosters

Injectable treatments such as polynucleotides and other skin boosters can be used to improve the quality of the delicate skin beneath the eyes.

Depending on the product selected, treatment may support hydration, collagen production and skin repair. This can help to soften fine lines and improve the overall texture and appearance of the under-eye area.

Tear Trough Filler

Tear trough filler may be considered when under-eye hollowing is creating shadows or contributing to a tired appearance. Carefully placed hyaluronic acid filler can restore volume and soften the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek.

Results can be visible immediately, although some swelling or bruising may occur while the area settles.

Tear trough filler is not suitable for everyone, particularly where puffiness or fluid retention is the main concern. A thorough consultation with an experienced medical practitioner is therefore essential.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

Anti-wrinkle injections can soften crow’s feet caused by repeated movement around the outer corners of the eyes.

In carefully selected patients, treatment may also be used beneath the eye to reduce the appearance of a prominent “jelly roll”—the small bulge that can appear when smiling or squinting.

As the eye area is delicate, your practitioner will assess your facial movement and anatomy before deciding whether this treatment is appropriate for you.

EMFACE® Eyes and EXION® Eyes

For those looking for a non-invasive option, EMFACE Eyes and EXION Eyes can be combined to target several common signs of ageing around the eyes.

EMFACE Eyes uses synchronised radiofrequency and muscle stimulation technologies to support the muscles around the eyes while encouraging collagen and elastin production. EXION Eyes uses radiofrequency and ultrasound technology to stimulate the skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin.

Together, these treatments can help improve the appearance of fine lines, loose skin, under-eye hollowing and dark circles, creating a smoother and more refreshed appearance. Treatment requires little to no downtime, although individual experiences and results can vary.

Which eye treatment is right for me?

There is no single treatment that is right for every eye concern. Dark circles, for example, may be caused by pigmentation, visible blood vessels, hollowing or genetics—and each cause may require a different approach.

During your consultation, we will carefully assess your skin, facial anatomy and concerns before recommending a personalised treatment plan. This may include skincare, a standalone treatment or a combination of approaches for the most appropriate result.
